Samsung officially announced the Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini yesterday, and while the phone isn't exactly a high-end entry, it is a very appealing mid-range smartphone that is far more affordable than the Galaxy S3 or the iPhone 5. And just a day after, it looks like pre-orders are already beginning.

First up is U.K.'s Clove Technology, which is listing the Galaxy S3 Mini for 249, and for 298 including VAT. You can choose between either a blue or white 8GB Galaxy S3 Mini. The listing does state, however, that, "Official Price and Availability To Be Confirmed."

Phone retailer Phones4U is also taking pre-orders for the Galaxy S3 Mini for carriers Vodafone, Orange, and O2. The contract prices start at 25 a month, and run all the way up to 36 a month with 18-24 month contracts. The good news here is that the phone comes free with any of these contracts, just be prepared to be locked into your carrier for a while.

The Phones 4U listing also gives a promotional offer of three months free Wi-Fi, and has an expected ship date of November 2.

The Galaxy S3 Mini has a 4-inch Super AMOLED display that puts out a resolution of 480X800. The phone will have an older 1GHz dual-core processor, and a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera. The front-facing camera will now simply be a VGA cam rather than the 1.9-megapixel camera on the Galaxy S3.

The Galaxy S3 Mini will also be running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean right out of the box, giving users a chance to experience Project Butter and Google Now immediately.

No word on the Galaxy S3 Mini coming to the United States, but there's a good chance Samsung will want to bring as many phones as it can onto Apple's home turf.
