Dakota Johnson may be enjoying the fame she is currently experiencing because of the box office hit "Fifty Shades of Grey," but her actual love life is suffering, according to a source from Hollywoodlife.
The 25-year-old actress has just split up with long-time boyfriend Matthew Hitt, who ended the relationship after Johnson took the stardom status.
"[Dakota] has been way too busy to focus any attention to her relationship and Matthew totally shut her out of his life because of that," the source told Hollywoodlife exclusively.
It was also noted that their fight started even before the film hit the theaters. Hitt did not approve of Dakota's choice to be in the film.
"He hated that she took the film," said the source. "He hated all the talk and rumors that she was in a relationship with Jamie [Dornan] but that was obviously all in his head."
Therefore, their relationship could have been scarred way back in December 2013, when the film started shooting.
Dakota has mourned and coped in her own way by "keeping busy."
"She missed the good times but it really doesn't look like they will get back together," said the source.
Another insider told Us Weekly via Hollywoodlife that the couple broke up "over the holidays."
"Her life was getting too crazy and it wasn't something that he wanted to be a part of," said the source.
It is true as the daughter of Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith were touring all over the world to promote the show, according to Daily Mail.
Johnson also admitted that this has been a crazy ride for her. In an interview with Vogue last January, she said: "It's just the most insane thing to be a part of. I've never experienced anything like this; I don't think anyone has. It's terrifying-and it's exciting."
So, in the UK premiere of the film, when asked by a reporter of Johnson has a boyfriend, her response was, "I don't have a boyfriend."
Hitt is an indie rock artist of the band "Drowners" which was formed in New York in 2011. He also appeared in various modeling gigs like All Saints, Gucci and Band of Outsiders.
Meanwhile, Johnson seemed to have moved on as she is "casually" seeing other people now.
As for her attendance at the 87th Academy Awards, Johnson wore a stunning red gown. She was seen with her mother Melanie Griffith, US Magazine reported.
"My mom is with me," she told Ryan Seacrest on the red carpet. "She's my date."
