Jessica Williams could be travelling back from the future as she is eyed to be Jon Stewart's replacement in "The Daily Show," Salon reported.

In the short skit shown in the movie "Hot Tub Time Machine," Williams was hosting "The Daily Show" in 2025. A lot of critics said this prediction could be the best choice for the show.

As Mic News pointed out, getting a female host would be revolutionary for the show as "every late-night comedy program, on both Comedy Central and network television, has a male host. Additionally, all of those shows have a "white" host. These shows include 'The Nightly Show' by Larry Wilmore, 'The Colbert Report' by Stephen Colbert and 'The Daily Show'."

Aside from the outside preference for Williams, she was also commended for her talents. She is a "young woman of color in the mix of late-night hosts," according to Mic, if she gets picked for the role.

She also proved to be a powerful influence. In an incident when a Fox News commentator said catcalling is "okay," Williams said this is unacceptable.

"For most guys, it's just a calm, boring commute, but for me it's like I'm competing in a beauty pageant every day," said Williams. Then, she showed a video of a man applauding a woman walking past him. Williams backtracked the video and added her own "unsolicited comments" to those women passing by.

"This is just how we women show our appreciation for the male gaze," she said. "And believe it or not, getting the horny clap of approval does not improve my day. It actually creeps me out. So guys, get some impulse control, 'cause I've got some shit to do."

Unfortunately, for those rooting for Williams, she has already declined the offer even before it was formally sent to her.

On her Twitter account, Williams posted multiple entries of her reasoning why she is not the best fit for the role.

Today, she just posted, "Fact 1: I'm not hosting. Thank you but I am extremely under-qualified for the job!"

Then, she shared her personal reaction to political matters. She said that at her age, 25, if a political event happens that she does not agree with, she would go to her room and "like not come out for, like, 7 days."

"That being said I am super not right for it, but there are quite a few people who are! Can't wait to stick around & see what happens," she tweeted.
