The fifth generation of the iPod Touch is here and following its debut at the iPhone 5 keynote on Sept. 12.

According to Apple, the new iPod Touch is made with the same anodized aluminum used for the MacBooks.

The iPod looks like an iPhone but there are some differences.

Size and Weight:

The fifth generation of the iPod Touch is 4.86-inches tall, 2.31-inches wide, and a depth of 0.24-inches. The device weighs 3.10 ounces.

Screen:

Like the iPhone 5, the new iPod Touch has a 4-inch screen with Retina Display. The device features Multi-Touch IPS technology with a pixel resolution of 1,136x640 and 326 pixels per inch (ppi).

Camera:

Apple's iSight camera is available for the iPod Touch 5G. The camera is five-megapixels on the rear and a FaceTime HD camera on the front with 1.2-megapixels. Video records in high definition (HD) at 1080p and up to 30 frames per second. The FaceTime camera's HD video is lower with 720p but also records at 30 frames per second.

Other features for the camera include autofocus, LED flash, panorama view, face detection, hybrid IR filter, backside illumination, video stabilization, and geotagging over Wi-Fi.

Wireless Connectivity:

The new iPod Touch connects to the 4.0 version of Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Nike+ support built-in (but sold separately), and Maps.

Capacity/Prices:

The device is available in both 32GB and 64 GB. The price for the 32GB starts at $299, while the 64GB starts at $399.

Battery:

The mAh for the iPod Touch is 625 mAh. When it come sot music playback time, it can withstand up to 40 hours when fully charged, and up to eight hours for video.

According to Apple, to "fast charge" the new iPod Touch at 80 percent capacity, will take two hours. To have a fully charged iPoad, it will take four hours.

Voice Assistant:

Siri is available and speaks the following languages: English (U.S., UK, Canada, Australia), Spanish (U.S., Mexico, Spain), French (France, Canada, Switzerland), German (Germany, Switzerland), Italian (Italy, Switzerland), Japanese, Korean, Mandarin (Mainland China, Taiwan), and Cantonese (Hong Kong).

Colors:

There are more color options compared to the fourth generation iPod Touch. The color options include blue, black, gray, pink, and yellow. A red version is available at the Apple Store in collaboration with the RED campaign to combat AIDS.
