The second presidential debate isn't until next week but a pizza chain is utilizing the event's format for a special treat.

Pizza Hut is asking anyone attending the Oct. 16 debate to ask "the age-old burning question - Sausage or Pepperoni?"

The recipient must be an official attendee and the question must be said live. If successful, Pizza Hut is offering free pizza for life.

"We recognize there are a lot of serious issues to be debated, but we also know a lot less serious - but no less important - ones are being discussed every night inside houses across the country," said Pizza Hut CMO Kurt Kane. "So for the candidates to be able to show that they're in tune with all the issues, we felt a pizza-related question on behalf of The Pizza Party was very appropriate for a town hall debate."

However, USA Today is reporting the prize is actually a $520 gift card for the next 30 years.

An obstacle for Pizza Hut is the questions for the town hall debate are pre-screened.

The second presidential debate will be in Hofstra University in Long Island, New York. The 90-minute debate will be moderated by CNN Chief Political Correspondent and State of the Union anchor Candy Crowley at 9 p.m. EDT.

According to the Commission on Presidential Debates," The second presidential debate will take the form of a town meeting, in which citizens will ask questions of the candidates on foreign and domestic issues. Candidates each will have two minutes to respond, and an additional minute for the moderator to facilitate a discussion. The town meeting participants will be undecided voters selected by the Gallup Organization."
