After showing his body off in Magic Mike, actor Matthew McConaughey seems headed in the opposite direction for his upcoming film The Dallas Buyer's Club.

At a fundraiser for the Andy Roddick Foundation, the actor was seen next to his pregnant wife Camila Alves. While Alves looked radiant with her baby bump, McConaughey looked malnourished and sickly. The actor's upcoming role has him play Ron Woodruff, a man with AIDS who sought out a wide range of therapies for the disease in the 1980s.

McConaughey was also photographed outside a church in Austin Texas where he was leaning on his mother for support.

In a July interview with Larry King, the actor stated that he had to lose over 30 pounds for the role. Back in July he mentioned only losing 15 pounds, but it is clear that he has lost a great deal more since.

"I should not look healthy by the time I'm doing this," McConaughey added.

McConaughey's weight loss is the latest in a series of transformations for other major actors. "50 Cent" lost weight for All Things Fall A Part; Natalie Portman lost 20 lbs for Black Swan;  and Tom Hanks 55 pounds (25 percent of his body weight) to act in Castaway. The most extreme however may be Christian Bale's as the actor behind Batman lost 63 lbs for The Machinist.

The Dallas Buyer's Club is directed by Jean-Marc Vallee and is slated for a 2013 release.
