Floyd Mayweather's former best friend confirmed that he is "scared to death" of rival Manny Pacquiao.

Yahoo! Sports reported that rapper 50 Cent and Mayweather used to be very close buddies but had a falling out in the past two years. In the past several months, the two have been exchanging blows online. CBS Sports reported that Mayweather laughed about the rapper's declining record sales while 50 Cent alleged that he was not paid for helping establish the boxer's promotional team. 50 Cent also insulted Mayweather, saying he cannot read. Mayweather responded by taking photos of his giant paychecks to prove a point to the rapper.

On February 9, 2015, Chris Mannix, a writer for Sports Illustrated, saw 50 Cent in the SI office and asked about his opinion on the potential Mayweather-Pacquiao mega-bout.

50 Cent was quick to dismiss the thought of the fight ever happening, mainly because Mayweather is scared of Pacquiao.

Mannix tweeted 50 Cent's answer, "Saw @50cent in the SI office. Said he still doesn't think @FloydMayweather will fight Manny Pacqauio. Said 50: "He's scared to death."

Francisco Valcarel, president of the World Boxing Organization, also shared how he believes that the May 2 fight would not happen. Valcarel said in a report by News.com that there are so many matters that still have to be discussed between the two camps, especially between the promoters and Showtime and HBO, which represent the fighters.

Valcarel said, "I have my doubts that the fight will take place. I don't even like to mention the fight because I'm not directly dealing with that, but reading the comments from the press, one time they say they're gonna fight and the next day they say they won't fight."

He added, "And then another day they say somebody is lying and then they say the fight was already signed. I don't know what really happened. People want to see Mayweather and Pacquiao and I want to see Mayweather and Pacquiao, but again, like I tell you before, I got my doubts that that fight is going to happen.

Boxing News 24 wrote that Mayweather is not actually afraid of fighting Pacquiao, but he may be afraid to sign a contract that does not benefit him. If the May 2 fight happens, Mayweather is highly favored to win, going into the fight. Boxing News 24 also wrote that Mayweather has the advantage in terms of fighting skills, considering how he is a better tactical fighter compared to Juan Manuel Marquez, who previously knocked out Pacquiao.
