A new funny Qatar Airways ad was recently launched, featuring Barcelona and La Masia football stars.

Daily Mail presented the commercial video, which was 62 seconds long, starring Luis Suarez, Lionel Messi and Neymar of FC Barcelona as well as Gerard Pique and Andres Iniesta. The new ad will be aired in English, Arabic and Catalan. The advertisement primarily focuses on Qatar Airways' recent expansion, catering to over 140 destinations around the world.

The commercial celebrated the three-year partnership between the airline company and FC Barcelona. In the starting scene, the five football stars are walking in an airport to catch a flight to a holiday destination. Neymar and Pique were in Maldives, doing tricks with a sunscreen bottle while sunbathing. Luis Suarez was a cowboy in Dallas, highlighting his skills with his horse to the delight of other Westerners. Next, Pique and Iniesta were in Paris, France, sipping their coffee at a café when a mime artist suddenly appeared, spurring Pique to showcase his mime talents. Neymar and Messi were in Seoul, South Korea, battling ninja warriors with a football while Suarez was enjoying tea with a geisha. The final scene featured all five players arriving at the airport from their holiday adventure, still wearing their unique costumes.

FC Barcelona reported that the new commercial is the second marketing campaign by the two companies, following the success of their first, which featured an imaginary world, The Land of FC Barcelona, where the soccer greats took on unique roles. The new ad was revealed at a press conference at the Four Seasons Hotel in Doha, Qatar on February 4, 2015. His Excellency Akbar Al Baker, Chief Executive of Qatar Airways Group, Javier Faus, Vice President of the Economic and Strategic Area at FC Barcelona, and Manel Arroyo, Vice President for the Area of Media at FC Barcelona, were at the special meeting. Joining them at the head table were Pique and Neymar.

Akbar Al Baker said, "We are pleased to launch our new campaign, featuring some of the FC Barcelona stars and football greats. We hope that our passengers and football fans around the world enjoy this heart-felt journey as the players travel to a few of Qatar Airways' destinations."

Skift reported that Qatar Airways, along with other airline companies, heavily invested in sports sponsorships in the past years to increase brand recognition worldwide. Qatar Airways also introduced the "Join the Club" social media contest, which features great prizes, such as free flights to attend an FC Barcelona match in Spain.
