One of the most-discussed and much-awaited scenes in the upcoming "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie did not make it to the movie, reports said. The said scene pertains to that moment when Christian Grey, the lead male protagonist portrayed by Jamie Dornan, has to remove Anastasia Steele's (played by Dakota Johnson) tampon so that they could have sex. Movie director Sam Taylor-Johnson was quoted in a Variety report saying that that scene was not even discussed.

"On the early draft, there was a sense there was way too much sex...The story, of course, is of equal importance. We tried to balance the narrative correctly, so one doesn't feel like it's drowning the other," Taylor-Johnson told Variety.

Like Dornan, Taylor-Johnson stressed that the movie is a romantic love story and does not just focuses on sex. "People who haven't read the books might be surprised that there isn't more sex on the screen, but that's because they've gone by media reports of 'Fifty Shades,' which have tended to err on the side of the sensational. I'm pretty sure the millions of fans who have the read the trilogy will think there is enough sex," to quote her.

Producer Michael de Luca also came in defense of the movie telling Variety that it is not necessary to include all book scenes into the movie. "The book needed to put you in Ana's shoes to be a successful experience...The movie didn't need to do that. You can't make a movie as explicit as the book."

Note that the "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie which is based on the book series written by E.L. James has been given an R rating by the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) due to "strong sexual content including dialogue, some unusual behavior and graphic nudity, and for language."

Despite this, it has been reported earlier that tickets for the said movie are already selling like hot cakes, weeks before it hits theaters. It was even dubbed as the "fastest selling advance ticket R-rated title in Fandango's 15-year history." It is also expected that it would surpass and outshine several other hit R-rated movies like "Sex and the City 2," "The Hangover Part II," "The Hangover Part III," and the recently released "Gone Girl."

The movie tells the story of college student Anastasia Steele and handsome young businessman Christian Grey who met when she interviewed him for a school paper article. The two eventually have sex and engaged in a non-disclosure and dominance and submission agreement. The book from which the movie is based is considered as "one of the biggest and fastest-selling book series ever." The trilogy was even translated into more than 50 languages worldwide.

Aside from Dornan and Johnson, the cast also includes Luke Grimes, Victor Rasuk, Eloise Mumford, Marcia Gay Harden, Rita Ora, Max Martini, Callum Keith Rennie, Jennifer Ehle, and Dylan Neal. It will hit theaters on Valentine's Day this year. Watch the movie's official teasers and trailers here:
