The Los Angeles Lakers are apparently eyeing on a number of players to beef up their roster.

Since coaches, general managers and NBA team owners are not allowed to talk about players they would like to have on their team while the latter are still playing for another team, players can voice out their thoughts, or that of their team's.

Yahoo Sports reported that Kobe Bryant and Nick Young of the Lakers are looking for a couple of guards to improve their backcourt, namely Goran Dragic of the Phoenix Suns and Rajon Rondo of the Dallas Mavericks.

Los Angeles Daily News wrote that Nick Young talked to Dragic during their last game about the possibility of him playing in Los Angeles. Young said, "I told Goran Dragic on the court, 'You might be my teammate next year.' I'll talk to Marc (Gasol.) Me and him are cool. Kevin Love, I'll talk to him."

Dragic is likely to use his player option to exit in the final year of his contract with Phoenix. If the Suns fails to make the NBA postseason and Dragic realizes that his chemistry with Eric Bledsoe and Isaiah Thomas does not produce the results he expected, he might look for another team that has a chance to win a championship.

The Lakers are also interested in big men Marc Gasol and Kevin Love although the two are not likely to leave their current teams until they realize that their roster is not enough to move to the NBA Finals.

Kobe Bryant, on the other hand, is keen on acquiring point guard Rajon Rondo. ESPN reported that the Lakers failed to get Rondo from the Boston Celtics last December. Previously, Kobe and Rajon were seen having breakfast in Boston when the Lakers played against the Celtics in December. Even after the Mavericks acquired the assists leader, Bryant remains undeterred that Rondo belongs to Los Angeles. Dallas, however, is confident that they can secure the point guard when he enters free agency in the summer of 2015.

Bryant said, "No way. I'm not done. I'm not stopping until he signs an extension."

Yahoo Sports in the same report mentioned that the Lakers are looking for more ways to improve their standing. They are currently the fourth worst in the league with a record of 12-30. The Lakers have to understand that they are in a rebuilding mode and such requires a lot of time.
