There are plenty of places to catch the first presidential debate tonight, in all its live television glory, even without a TV.
Univision will be broadcasting the debate live online, translated into Spanish in real-time. Coverage begins at 6pm and the candidates start debating at 9pm.
Those preferring an old fashioned television can tune to any of the broadcast networks (ABC, NBC, CBS and Fox), the cable news stations (CNN, Fox News and MSNBC), as well as PBS and C-SPAN. National Public Radio will also carry special coverage of the debate.
In addition to Univision, many other sites will stream the debate live online. ABC, CBS, CNN, C-SPAN and Fox News will mirror their television coverage. The Wall Street Journal and the website Politico will provide live feeds as well.
The candidates' campaigns are also getting in on the action. Users can search for "watch parties" on the websites for both Mitt Romney and Barack Obama to find lists of local events where like-minded voters will gather to watch the debate tonight.
Some of these events are affiliated with the campaigns, which provide materials to hand out and preparation packets for volunteers who host parties in their homes and offer their television or computer screens.
And some events are independent, including many local bars that for one night turn off the sports and tune in the politics. Democratic meetup Drinking Liberally is also hosting viewings around the country.
Correspondents from The Daily Show and The Onion will host a viewing party in New York, bars feature red and blue cocktails in D.C., and eager political junkies shut out in Denver can drown their sorrows at the local Beauty Bar. Check out the full list.
