Marshawn Lynch of the Seattle Seahawks is getting an unusual award.

TMZ reported that the NFL star, also known as "Beast Mode", has a second strain of marijuana named after him again.

The first strain of weed was also called "Beast Mode" or "Beast Mode O.G.", after Lynch and the Seahawks won the Super Bowl in 2014. The new one was recently dubbed, "Beast Mode 2.0" or "Beast Mode Blue Fire".

TMZ spoke with Nate "Diggity" Johnson, owner of the Queen Anne Cannabis Club in Seattle, who said that the first "Beast Mode" strain was selling well in 2014. Growers were requesting for a stronger strain, together with their hopes that the defending champs Seattle Seahawks would have a second trip to the Super Bowl in 2015.

Considering how their wishes were granted with the Seahawks set to battle the New England Patriots at Super Bowl XLIX on February 1, Johnson decided to name the new drug after famous running back.

In a Seattlepi report, Johnson shared that he was initially apprehensive about naming the first strain after Lynch, even though most celebrities consider it as an honor to have a strain named after them. He later on discovered that he was not wrong in going with "Beast Mode O.G." after the warm reception and further requests for a stronger strain.

Johnson said, "All I can say is they were not mad at me whatsoever. I was a little bit worried last year that maybe his management and him would be mad or not approve, but that was not the case. They are not mad at all. They gave me the OK. They were cool."

According to the strain developer, "Beast Mode 2.0" is more potent compared to the 2014 version. It has 5 percent more THC than its predecessor. Johnson compared it to the current Seattle Seahawks, which are better than last year.

Johnson described the second weed, "It's a super pain reliever. And hits you just like Marshawn - hard and fast."

Johnson added in Bleacher Report, "We're back in the Super Bowl and better than ever now, so it only makes sense to have a better strain. There's no way that you're getting by smoking this without feeling it, kind of like how Marshawn literally pushes the defense down instead of them pushing him down. It's going to push you. You're going to feel it right away."

Fans might be looking for more "Beast Mode" upgrades if the Hawks still win this year's Super Bowl.
