NFL News: Partygoers Hurl Drinks at Johnny Manziel in Houston Nightclub

This is the third time in the past few months that Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel got involved in off-court trouble.

TMZ reported that Manziel was at Dekan nightclub in Houston, his home state, on January 4, 2014 with some friends to unwind but matters immediately got out of hand.

According to J.R. from Sticky Promotions, who spent time with Johnny that Sunday, there were several people heckling at Manziel and aggressively trying to take photos. At one point, Manziel gave the angry crowd his infamous middle finger. The crowd responded by throwing drinks at him.

J.R. continued in the same TMZ report, "I ducked and I looked at Johnny and we grabbed security and they ran us out of there." The police was not contacted during the incident.

Reportedly, Johnny and some of his group got wet from the hurled drinks, so they had to return to the hotel to change. After changing into a new shirt, Manziel proceeded to party for the rest of the night without any more trouble and had a good time. They went back to the same Houston nightclub. Those who previously tossed the drinks were removed from the scene, based on an article by Fansided.com.

The first trouble that Manziel was involved in was a run-in with a Cleveland Browns fan outside his condo in Cleveland in November 2014. The second was when he missed a rehab session after partying late into the night days before the Browns were to play their last game of the season, based on a report by New York Post. Particularly, fans might have been heckling at the quarterback for his poor showing in at least two games during the current NFL season and having only scored once.

Manziel suffered from an injured hamstring during his second start of the season and he had to end his rookie year on the injured reserve. He had a disappointing first season with 175 yards and passing 18-for-35 plus two interceptions and a fumble. He had zero passing touchdowns and a quarterback rating of 42.

His off-court shenanigans made matters worse, spurring Browns coach Mike Pettine to warn him that he will not hesitate to use their draft picks to get another quarterback if necessary. Manziel later apologized to his team and promised to clean up his act based on a report by Sports Net.

He said, "It's about actions. It's about being accountable and doing what I'm going to say."
