It was only a matter of time.
After 2009's inaugural season of the Lingerie Football League, what else would be more appropriate than the Bikini Basketball League. Yes, you read that right: Women. In bikinis. Playing basketball.

NBC Sports says the League's concept has been around since 2011, but has yet to host an official game. That's about to change.
In 35 days, the league, which is for "Sexy Athletic Ladies from around the world," is expected to open.
Seven teams are already in existence-- Chicago Desire, Orlando LadyCats, Miami Spice, Los Angeles Ice, New York Knockouts, Hollywood Hotties and Atlanta Fleet Angel.
"This is a competitive basketball league, so we are definitely looking for girls that can really play," a Miami Spice representatives told the Miami New Times. "It is also a bikini league in which the girls will be playing basketball in bikinis, so looking good in a bikini is a must."
So which league scores the most points? Let's compare:
Bikini League- Half-naked women running back and forth, jumping up and down.
Lingerie League: Half-naked women making full- body contact by rolling around on the ground wrestling, tackling and twisting.
Winner (Sponsor's point of view): The Lingerie League wins on the technicality of more action and body contact.
Everyone likes a woman in uniform, so which teams' get-up is sure to get you up?
Bikini League- Not many photos have surfaced of the buxom beauties in uniform, but with the name "Bikini League" and a little common sense, it's not hard to imagine what the uniforms will look like.
Lingerie League- Similar to the aforementioned league, it's easy to imagine what the LL' uniforms will look like-basically panties, bras, garters, knee pads, shoulder pads and helmets.
Winner (Sponsor's point of view): Lingerie League hands down. Bikinis are appealing, but what beats wearing underwear in public?
Winner (Sponsor's point of view): Draw. Who cares?!
The Bikini League's season is expected to start in summer 2013.
