Did Kanye make Kim Kardashian cry?

Well, he kinda did. Kim on New Year admitted that Kanye's new song "Only One" made her cry.

"People always ask me what my favorite Kanye song is and it's Only One. Kanye feels like his mom sang thru him to our daughter," Kim posted on Twitter. This was followed by another tweet which said, "I cry every time I hear this song."

"Only One" is the recently released song of Kanye West. The song was exclusively released on the iTunes music store. It also features the great Paul McCartney who actually took over the keyboards during the song's recording.

According to the press release issued by Kanye, the song is dedicated to his late mother, Dr. Donda West, who was his "mentor, confidante, and best friend."

It was noted in the statement that he started working with Paul McCartney in early last year in Los Angeles. It started with a "simple brainstorming" between the two which resulted in the "Only One."

"When they played back the recording afterward, something remarkable happened. Kanye sat there with his family, holding his daughter North on his lap, and listened to his vocals, singing, 'Hello, my only one...'

"And in that moment, not only could he not recall having sung those words, but he realized that perhaps the words had never really come from him...

The process of artistic creation is one that does not involve thinking, but often channeling. And he understood in that moment that his late mother, Dr. Donda West, who had spoken through him that day," the statement revealed.

According to E! Online, Kanye's mom died in 2007 at the age of 58. She died after undergoing a plastic surgery.

Kanye believes that it was his mother who was indeed singing to him through his daughter. The lyrics of the song goes like, "Hello my Only One...just like the morning sun...you'll keep on rising till the sky knows your name. And you're still my chosen one. Remember who you are. No, You're not perfect but you're not your mistakes."

The lyrics actually refer to him as his name "Kanye" means "only one."

"And then it dawned on everyone there: Something powerful and undeniable had occurred through the power of music and of letting go. A message had been passed down through generations...Only One is an anthem of positive reflection, hopefulness and joyous celebration to usher in a New Year," the statement added.
