Microsoft's Xbox One and Sony's PlayStation 4 had problems on Christmas Day after hackers attacked the network, making it impossible for players to log into their accounts and download new content.

Rockstar previously released the "Festive Surprise" update for "Grand Theft Auto Online," which featured a variety of winter items and bonuses that players can enjoy for the holiday season. Los Santos was covered in snow and players were supposed to get several gift extras such as new weapons, four new vehicles, fireworks shooters, masks, and winter clothes. However, the attacks prevented gamers from getting these on Christmas Day. The networks were interrupted for about 24 hours, based on a report by Game Rant.

In response, Rockstar extended the "Festive Surprise" holiday gifts, long after the original deadline. GTA V players can still download the special gift pack. However, they did not indicate until when they will be featuring the pack. According to the Rockstar Games, the gifts will be available only "for the time being", so players are encouraged to get these as soon as they can.

The drawback is not all of the holiday special add-ons will be available for download during the extension period. The same report from Game Rant revealed that the "snowball fight" mode was not extended. Also, the snowfall will no longer be available for the extended period downloadable content.

There are also talks that Rockstar will be launching "Online Heists" for "GTA V" after the holiday gift pack. Shady Lapse, a tipster for "GTA V" shared at Se7ensins forums that details about the upcoming downloadable content were leaked through the 1.20 source code for the game, based on a report by International Business Times.

User iCrazyTeddy also uploaded a video on YouTube which presented the leaked content of "Online Heists". Some of the things to expect in the update include the "Heist" planning board, special abilities and night vision. Furthermore, players can also send "Heists" email.

Rockstar Games will reportedly improve performance and fix existing bugs so players can expect better gameplay overall. "Heists" will need GTA cash to prepare and organize. The heist leader can also determine the amount of cash that each crew member will receive. A ranking system will be available for heist preparations, featuring gold, silver and bronze medals. The five "GTA 5 Online Heists" missions include "The Prison Break", "The Pacific Standard Job", "The Humane Labs Raid", "The Military Job" and "The Flecca Bank".

Rockstar will most likely release "Online Heists" early in January 2015.
