Although Manny Pacquiao knocked him down six times in their last bout, American Chris Algieri is still siding with Floyd Mayweather.

Algieri said in a report by Boxing Scene that Mayweather will win if the dream bout would happen between the two superstars. He added that the fight, contrary to what others may have imagined, will not be exciting and will be "non-competitive" throughout.

Algieri previously commented in an interview with Hit First Boxing, "Neither guy is in their prime, they're both fantastic fighters, but it's also about styles. Manny is a great fighter but I don't think he's going to match up well with Floyd's particular style."

He added, "I don't think it's going to be a particularly exciting fight and I don't think it's going to be a particularly competitive fight. I've got Floyd winning that fight. Manny would definitely make it somewhat interesting, but I see Floyd taking that fight."

"Manny is a great fighter but I don't think he's going to match up well with Floyd's particular style. I don't think it's going to be a particularly exciting fight and I don't think it's going to be a particularly competitive fight," Algieri said in a GMA Network report.

He continued, ''I've got Floyd winning that fight. Manny would definitely make it somewhat interesting but I see Floyd taking that fight.''

Despite his predictions, however, Algieri does not believe that the giant fight will ever happen between Mayweather and Pacquiao on May 2, 2015.

He said, "Personally, I do not think the fight is going to ever happen. They're not any closer to making it than they ever were, and I think that's really indicative that the fights really not going to happen."

After Pacquiao defeated Algieri, he called out Mayweather to finally fight him. Mayweather came out with a surprise invitation to fight him on May 2, 2015. Pacquiao and Top Rank promoter Bob Arum, however, suggested that they do the fight in April or June. Arum and CBS CEO Les Moonves are currently negotiating to make the mega-fight happen, based on the same report by GMA Network. CBS is the parent company of Showtime, which has Mayweather under contract.

Since 2009, fans have been clamoring for a big fight between the undefeated Mayweather and the eight-division champion Pacquiao but negotiations kept falling apart. The last hurdle in the talks was the supposed May 2 date which "disrespects" the Mexican Mayo de Cinco holiday, according to Arum.
