12/16/2014 SEOUL - Four passengers and one crew member were hospitalized after the American Airlines Flight 280 from Seoul to Dallas/FortWorth was diverted to Tokyo Narita because of turbulence.

According to The Weather Channel, the area was being rocked by a severe storm causing the aircraft to land in Tokyo with 15 injured passengers.

"The second loud boom is when the flight attendants and food carts all simultaneously hit the ceiling. One of the attendance broke the emergency exit sign off with her back. The plane dropped 4,000 feet over the course of the turbulence. Five people had to be hospitalized when we landed and at least ten sustained injuries. Some women are screaming a lot, yes, like the woman with heart problems and all five of her very young children on the plane - and the woman trapped in the bathroom with her infant," said one passenger on Reddit. "No one was over reacting."
