While filming has yet to start for the fifth installment of the "Transformers" movie franchise and the sequel to the "Age of Extinction," "Transformers 5" seems to be generating the most rumors of late in terms of casting.

After the departure of Michael Bay and lead actor Mark Wahlberg following the fourth movie, word sprea that Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox will reprise their roles from the first two movies in the series.

Subsequently, the rumor that followed was that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Bruce Willis will be in the movie as "Transformers 5" will be crossed with the "G.I. Joe" film series.

But it seems that those casting rumors will all be quashed with the latest speculation that the setting of the next "Transformers" movie is in outer space, and thus would not require much in terms of human cast but instead rely on voice actors.

"In Transformers: Age of Extinction, Optimus Prime was seen leaving the planet to face their creators, the Quintessons. The reason why no (official) casting announcements have been made just yet because the setting of the story won't be on Earth and might completely feature computer-generated imagery (CGI) characters," states Crossmap.

Enstarz reports that the next movie may have nothing do with mortals and will take place in Cybertron, where Optimus Prime is headed to find his creator.

But all these are mere rumors and speculations until after Paramount Studios and Dreamworks Pictures confirm what or who are to be in the fifth "Transformers" movie, notes Crossmap.

When Michael Bay left the franchise after "Transformers: Age of Extinction," he outlined the challenge that the new director shall be assuming for the next installment.

"There a lot (of plots) that (are) unexplored, but that's for the next director to figure out. They're hard movies (Transformers movies) to do and it takes every day for two years. They're fun but hard," Bay was quoted as saying.

Latest word on the director of the movie is that "Transformers 5" shall be helmed by Jonathan Liebesman, the director of "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles," according to another report by Enstarz. He is reportedly taking over the directorial reigns of the movie from Michael Bay.

Liebesman is sure up for a big challenge as he will be filling in Michael Bay's role not just in terms of creativity but most especially in the aspect of box office success, which all "Transformers" movies have done so in the past, added the report.
