Last week, there were speculations that despite completing filming a couple of months ago, the cast of "Avengers: Age of Ultron," the second installment to the Avengers movie franchise, will gather together once again to do some reshoots.

Latest word on the rumor mill is that the "Avengers 2" reshoot was necessary because director Joss Whedon wants to include a cameo role for "Doctor Strange," whose role was confirmed just recently for British actor Benedict Cumberbatch, reports Cinema Blend.

Doctor Strange is one of Marvel's superheroes, and with the merging of the Marvel cinematic universe in "Avengers: Age of Ultron," it only makes sense to include him and also drumbeat his planned solo movie in the not-too-distant future.

"Marvel is doing reshoots on the movie now because they have finally locked an actor into the Doctor Strange role and immediately wants to take advantage of it. Whether it's for a quick cameo in the movie, or part of post-credits teaser, the idea is that Cumberbatch could make his debut in 'The Avengers 2' setting him up for his own movie in 2016," explains Cinema Blend.

Blastr also reported of rumors that Doctor Strange is also being eyed for inclusion on "Captain America: Civil War" due to hit theaters in 2016.

"If the post-credit scene in 'Captain America: Winter Soldier' taught us anything, it's that Marvel isn't afraid to introduce major new characters in what is essentially an easter egg role," opines the report, hinting that the studio can actually do it again with "Avengers: Age of Ultron."

The first trailer of the "Avengers: Age of Ultron" also included scenes that featured a gurney and surgical mountain. Also shown was a mansion on top of a mountain which resembles the abode of the Sorcerer Supreme thus indicating that Doctor Strange might have a small cameo in the upcoming Marvel film, cites the Inquisitr.

"Avengers: Age of Ultron" due to hit theatres on May 1, 2015,

The movie will revolve around the "Civil War" storyline, which is also a comic book series of Marvel.

Instead of fighting as a band of superheroes doing it for the common good of the people and universe, the "Civil War" plot would ultimately divide the Avengers, reports IGN.

The "Civil War" plot shall divide the Marvel superheroes into two factions. One side believes in the Superhero Registration Act of the US government. And the other refuses to register themselves and reveal their identities, notes the report.
