Although he may not be as tall or experienced as the retired NBA player Yao Ming, Jeremy Lin, the undrafted Harvardian point guard currently playing for the New York Knicks is causing noise among the NBA Asian fan base who were left with a void when Yao who once played for the Houston Rockets, retired from the NBA.

Lin is an American of Asian descent who chose to follow his basketball career throughout his attendance at Harvard. After graduating from the Ivy-league school, Lin played in the Golden State Warriors, an NBA team, for the 2010-2011 season.

Lin was then waived off by the Warriors on December 9, 2011. Then on January 23, 2012 he was recalled to play to the Knicks after attaining a triple-double in a D-league game where the Erie Bay Hawks, Lin's team, defeated the Maine Red Claws 122-113.
