Gamers were expecting Bethesda Softworks, the developer of post-apocalypse video game "Fallout 4," to at least make an announcement about the much-anticipated game during the VGX 2014 event held in Las Vegas last December 5.
In a November 17 article, Crossmap reported that Bethesda may make an announcement or let loose some details about "Fallout 4" on the said event.
That notion was fuelled further when Geoff Keighley, the VGX host, tweeted in November a photo of him along with Bethesda's marketing and sales team which had fans thinking that the developer may announce something during the event. In addition, Bethesda has released "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" during the VGX 2011 event, so having a game launched on the same event is a good idea too, details the report.
As it turned out, Bethesda did not do anything at all during the VGX 2014 event which had fans more frustrated than ever for the lack of new information about "Fallout 4," reports the Gaming Bolt.
"One of the things that people were looking forward to was a possible 'Fallout 4' announcement but Bethesda shot down any chance of that happening at the event," the report said.
Pete Hines, vice president of Bethesda Softworks said that they attended the event not to make any announcement about "Fallout 4" but to give support to MachineGames, the developer of "Wolfenstein: The New Order." The said game was contested for Best Shooter and Best Narrative awards, reports The Fuse Joplin.
Fans are already growing impatient over an official announcement from Bethesda.
"They want to know if the game is going to be released or announced anytime soon, but the company doesn't want to give an answer. Because of that, more hoax information appears all over the internet (about 'Fallout 4'), making the fans believe them. And when they realize they've been fooled, they get disappointed, and the story repeats continuously," The Fuse Joplin pointed out.
But if the consensus of the rumors swirling around is to be the basis, the latest instalment to the Fallout series may be released in October next year or sometime in early 2016, notes Breathecast in an October 11 report.
"Fallout 3" was released in 2008 and fans have long been clamoring for the latest addition to the video game series since then, cites Breathecast.
Bethesda did confirm that there will be a "Fallout 4" which it already trademarked with the European Union sometime late last year, which IGN mentioned in a November 18, 2013 report.
After "Fallout 3," Bethesda released "Fallout: New Vegas" in 2010.
