The Blu-Ray, DVD, and Digital Download of The Dark Knight Rises will be available on December 3, 2012, and Warner Bros. has decided to celebrate this announcement with a trailer for the Batman Trilogy's concluding chapter. The video is in every way identical to the theatrical trailer for the film, but includes the previously mentioned release date at the tail end of its running time.

The Dark Knight Rises takes place eight years after the beloved Dark Knight film, exposing an out-of-commission Bruce Wayne whose brief stint as The Batman has taken its toll on the man's body and mind. It is not until Selina Kyle, aka Catwoman, pulls Bruce out his self-imposed seclusion that he begins to find the strength once again, something that he will need in order to best Bane, the movie's mysterious villain.

The film was directed by Christopher Nolan, whose other films include Inception, Insomnia, Following, Batman Begins, and The Dark Knight. Rises stars Christian Bale, Joseph-Gordon Levitt, Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman, Anne Hathaway, Morgan Freeman, Marion Cotillard, and Michael Caine. Chris Nolan, Johnathon Nolan, and David Goyer penned the screenplay.

IMDB estimates that The Dark Knight Rises had a budget of $250,000,000. To date, the movie has made about $437,782,482 in the USA alone. Metascore shows an average review score of 78/100, and Rottentomatoes displays an 87 percent freshness rating for the film.

The Dark Knight Rises was originally released in theaters on July 20,2012.

Warner Bros. has yet to announce any extras for the home theater release of the film.
