Viewership for "Today" continues to slip after Ann Curry's departure according to latest ratings result.

Curry, who dismissed from the NBC morning show after nearly a year at the co-anchors desk with Matt Lauer, has recently been reporting on the ongoing war in Syria. While the crisis occurs in the Middle East, another crisis for the "Today" show continues behind the scenes.

Ratings for "Today" has slipped further in overall viewership and the coveted 25 to 54 demographic. The 25 to 54 demographic is key to the network as those are the age numbers businesses are looking to grab with advertisements.

With Savannah Guthrie succeeding Curry, ratings have slipped to 4.6 million viewers, and 1.9 million in the 25-54 demographic. The numbers are lower compared to the last 10 weeks of Curry's tenure as co-host, according to the New York Post, which averaged 4.94 million viewers and 2.1 million in the 25 to 54 demographic.

Where have the ratings gone?

Ratings have gone to ABC's "Good Morning America."

The ABC morning show has seen an increase of ratings since former "Today" co-host Katie Couric sat on the anchors desk for a week. In the 10 weeks ending on Sept. 9, "Good Morning America" averaged 4.7 million viewers and 1.75 million in the 25 to 54 demographic.

The success for "Good Morning America" is the first time the show is first place in 16 years.

Curry has been considered as the scapegoat for the NBC morning show's ratings decline, but it may appear the decision to remove Curry damaged the show's viewership more, as apparent by fan comments on Latinos Post.

Mary Ann: The day Ann Curry said good bye was the day I switched to Good Morning America.  NBC's treatment of Ann Curry was deporable. She wasn't my favorite in the anchor chair but she surely didn't deserve what she got and how she got it.

Jcasbru: I have not watched the Today Show since Ann Curry was fired---I want to thank you because I started watching Good Morning America and I absolutely love the show. The people on that show are so genuine--LIKE ANN CURRY

Laurie: Has NBC ever thought their ratings were down because of Matt? I thought alot of Ann Curry and hated that she was done that way. I will no longer watch NBC today shows. I'm ashamed of how you could treat a woman like Ann the way you have. She did not deserve what you did to her.  I hope she lands a job at Good Morning America so I can continue to watch her. I also hope your rating continue to drop. I bet Ann would get a good laugh out of that.

Curry now serves as NBC's anchor-at-large and national and international correspondent.
