Floyd Mayweather Net Worth: 15-Year-Old Son Called Money a Coward?

No, the 15-year-old son of Floyd Mayweather Jr. did not call his father a coward because he was not contented with the gold Bentley golf cart he received from his dad for his birthday last November 15.

And neither because he also perceives that his father is seemingly avoiding Manny Pacquiao in the ring.

Apparently, Koraun branded his father a coward for not acting like a real man and admitting to his actions after witnessing Floyd Mayweather Jr. beat his mother Josie Harris four years ago, reports News One.

With permission from his mother who was also being interviewed, Mayweather's oldest child spoke with USA Today and elaborated on how he felt after seeing his mom being punched and kicked by his father.

Josie Harris claims to have been the subject of Mayweather's physical abuse at least six times. The seventh beating on September 2010 was the one witnessed by then 11-year-old Koraun. It was also the one where Mayweather spent 90 days in prison as a result.

The Violent Incident

USA Today details the tempestuous relationship of Mayweather and Harris.

Although they have split up, Floyd Jr. was still jealous of rumors of Josie dating another man. One night in September 2010, Money came to the house late after Josie went on a night out with friends. They argued and she asked Floyd Jr. to leave. He did but returned at 4 am, bringing along his friend James McNair.

Mayweather was fuming mad upon his return because he read affectionate text messages to Harris from an NBA player. And that's when the beating started. Floyd Jr. began pulling her hair and started raining punches and kicks on her.

Koraun, who opened the door to his father and his friend, saw the beating. Mayweather asked him to stay in his room but he decided instead to alert his mom's friend, who lives in the guesthouse at the back of their property.

"So I ran and tried to go through the front door to go to the gate. But then his friend (McNair) came through the door and blocked off the stairway," recalled Koraun to USA Today.

"Then I went back into my room and locked the door. I ran back out of my bathroom and then hopped over the gate and went to the main entrance gate. I just told the guard that my mom was getting hurt and to call the ambulance and the police," he explained.

But even before law enforcement arrived, Mayweather and McNair already left the premises, bringing with them Harris' mobile phone.

Josie tells USA Today that he still can't hold back her tears every time she recalls her son's actions that night.

"I just thanked him because I didn't know how long it was going to go on. And I just feel like if he wouldn't have gone to get help, I may not be even be sitting here," Harris said.

For Koraun, he still gets angry every time he recalls Mayweather's attack on his mother. But the most difficult part for him to accept is that his father's refusal to own up to his mistakes, notes USA Today.
