Apparently, the only person who can take Taylor Swift down is - Taylor Swift, the country-turned-pop-star went to the top of the board again this week, replacing her own song, "Shake It Off" as number 1.
The young singer just added another milestone to the many she's had over the course of her career: according to Hit Fix, she is the only female performer in Hot 100 history who was able to replace her own song in the number one spot. Others who managed to pull this feat are The Beatles, Boyz II Men, P. Diddy, Ja Rule, Nelly, Outkast, Usher, T.I., and the Black Eyed Peas.
Her album, 1989, also earned the honor of having its first two singles on top of the Hot 100, and the only one to do so this year. According to Billboard, Taylor's 1989 is the first to achieve this feat since Mackelmore & Ryan Lewis's "The Heist" in 2013, and the first female performer to do so since Adele's "21."
While fairly recent on the airwaves, it appears that "Blank Space" is moving fast to the top of the charts, making it to the top after only two weeks. According to Billboard, only three songs managed this since 2006, and two of them are Taylor's own, for "Shake it Off" and "Blank Space." The other one was Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" which launched at No. 6 in 2011.
Meanwhile, this week's no.2 spot belongs to Meghan Trainor for "All About that Bass", Taylor's "Shake it Off" at No. 3, Maroon 5's "Animals" at No. 4, and Tove Lo's "Habits (Stay High) slips to no. 5.
The rest of this week's top 10 include Hozier's "Take Me to Church" at No. 6, Bobby Shmurday's "Hot Boy" at No. 7. Jessie J, Ariana Grande, and Nicki Minaj's "Bang Bang" at no. 8, and Sam Smith's "I'm Not The Only One" at no. 9. Finally, rounding up the top 10 is Nick Jonas, with "Jealous."
