Jennifer Lawrence will not be in the movie "Dumb and Dumber To" after all because 'things didn't work out' according to brother directors Peter and Bobby Farrelly.

As early as September of last year, the production of the movie has hinted of having Lawrence, one of the most popular and talented actresses in Hollywood, to its cast, albeit in a cameo role, reports Cinema Blend.

Bobby Farrelly disclosed that they were not able to make the cameo role for Jennifer Lawrence work, cites the report.

"Jennifer was in Atlanta when we were working down there. (She) was doing 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1' and a couple of times we got together with them, because we're both friends with Woody Harrelson. We talked about trying to work it (Jennifer's cameo in 'Dumb and Dumber To') in, but we weren't able to do it," shares Bobby Farrelly.

Lawrence was supposed to play the role of the young Flaida Feltcher, the young woman Harry and Lloyd have a fight over in the original "Dumb and Dumber," notes Cinema Blend.

There have been reports that Lawrence secretly filmed a cameo appearance in "Dumb and Dumber To" and later on asked to be cut from the movie as per her contractual rights, said the Hollywood Reporter.

The Farrelly brothers categorically denied the rumors when they spoke to students at the Loyola Marymount University's School of Film and Television on November 5, the site added.

So when the movie is officially released to theaters on November 14, some moviegoers will probably be surprised if they don't see even the slightest shadow of J-Law in the film.

Cast and Trailer

Exactly 20 years after the first "Dumb and Dumber" movie skyrocketed to box office success, Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels will be reprising their roles as Lloyd and Harry, respectively, in "Dumb and Dumber To."

The Farrelly brothers revealed that it took them a while to finish the follow up film because they do not want to make a movie without the original stars in it, details the Hollywood Reporter.

"We had no interest in making a "Dumb and Dumber" story without Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels (in it)," Bobby Farrelly was quoted as saying.

The Farrellys were not involved in the 2003 making of the prequel "Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd," adds the report.

The supporting cast to Carrey and Daniels in the movie include Rob Rigle, Laurie Holden, Rachel Melvin, Kathleen Turner, Bill Murray, Brady Bluhm, among a few others.
