Nike celebrates seven years of N7 with the new N7 Holiday Collection, which was released in time for Christmas.

In a report by Nike.com, N7 is Nike's dedication to inspire two million Native American and Aboriginal youth in North America to engage in physical activity and sports. The N7 philosophy is highly inspired by the Native philosophy that every decision should consider the impact on the following seven generations.

For 2014, the N7 Holiday Collection presents attractive graphic designs influenced by Northwest Coastal Art. These will be available in a wide array of shoes and sports apparel. To come up with the unique designs, Nike collaborated with Peter Boome, an artist from the Northwest Coast and an Upper Skagit tribe member.

Peter Boome said in the same Nike report, "The art of the Northwest region has historically existed as symbols carved onto artistic and utilitarian objects - virtually almost anything. N7's interest in Northwest Coastal graphics is a natural progression of the art itself.  If you're going to design everything, why not design the clothes that you wear?" He added, "I love the abstract qualities of Nike's take on traditional designs - bringing movement to the wings and other traditional elements. Apparel is meant to move, so the integration of movement in the design is intuitive."

Boome continued, "Northwest art stands on its own, but the reach of N7 is broader than I ever realized in terms of its impact on Native youth as they define who they are and what path they will take."

Kicks On Fire  wrote that the N7 Holiday Collection will feature traditional Native American and Aboriginal elements such as the raven and frog. The designs also have a black and red base with gold and silver accents to mark the seventh anniversary of N7.

In a report by Complex.com, there will be four sneakers in the collection, namely the N7 KD7, N7 Free Inneva Woven, N7 Roshe Run Woven and N7 Zoom Pegasus 31. The woven upper on the Roshe Run and Inneva were inspired by traditional basket weaving among Northwest tribes. The N7 logo can also be seen on all four pairs and related Nike N7 apparel. The KD7 retails at $150, the Inneva at $180, the Roshe Run at $90 and the Pegasus at $100.

Complex.com reported that the N7 collection was launched on November 8 at 8 a.m. EST at Nike.com and Foot Locker. The proceeds will be forwarded to the N7 Fund to help youth sports programs of Native American and Aboriginal youth.
