Rumors are circulating that the masked high-flying Rey Mysterio might make a comeback to the WWE. Randy Orton, on the contrary, might be stepping out of the ring for a while.

Bleacher Report wrote that Mysterio reportedly met with officials of WWE on Monday Night Raw on November 3. Mysterio reportedly flew to Buffalo, New York to talk to WWE officials. After three days, he went back to California.

Mysterio has not been wrestling for several months and the last time he was in the ring was in April 2014. In another article by Wrestle Zone, WWE used a clause in Mysterio's contract to extend it with no need for him to sign. The extension clause was created to make up for lost time due to injury. Bleacher Report wrote that the masked dynamo might be attempting to move out of the clause or looking for ways to return to action.

In the same article by Bleacher Report, insiders said that "Mysterio and WWE have not been on the same page for some time after Mysterio's WWE contract extended."

In a report by Wrestle Zone, WWE head Vince McMahon, who extended Mysterio's contract, has not yet spoken with the wrestler since he returned to California.

On the same day that Mysterio was in Buffalo, Orton was attacked by The Authority, leading to an injury that might keep him out of action throughout Survivor Series. Another article by Bleacher Report showed that Orton lost to Rollins in the main event on Monday Night Raw last November 3, after Rollins stomped on the Red Viper's head against the steel steps.

Another Wrestle Zone report revealed that Randy Orton showed "concussion-like symptoms" after he was attacked by Rollins and The Authority. Michael Cole on WWE Network stated that Orton will be out for several weeks and that he will not join any team in Survivor Series.

The same article by Bleacher Report also wrote that it was an effective plot to keep Orton out of the WWE scene for a while so he can film a movie. Orton is preparing for "The Condemned 2", which will start filming on November 11, 2014. The injury angle was necessary so his absence may be excused. The same approach was used by WWE to explain Dean Ambrose's absence when he had to play a role in an upcoming movie too.

Survivor Series is set on November 23. Wrestling fans also speculated that when Orton returns, it is very likely that he will side with Team Cena.
