Sony Xperia Z4 Release Date, Specs & Price: 5 Major Upgrades to Expect

While Sony Xperia Z3 has just started hitting the markets, the Japanese electronics company is again set to unveil a flagship device -- the Sony Xperia Z4.

Christian Today said that the device is set to be launched in March next year. This was seconded by Android Origin, saying that the debut would probably be during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain. It cited unnamed "trusted sources" who they claimed were the ones who leaked the information about the Xperia Z3 too. If these rumors are true, then Sony's launch of the Xperia Z4 may coincide with the unveiling of the Samsung Galaxy S6 which is also expected to be launched during the mentioned event.

Now, to give a glimpse of what will the Sony Xperia Z4 will look like and what features it will have, we listed some of the upgrades being eyed in the device based on tech bloggers' and experts' predictions.

Bigger display screen and improved resolution

Christian Today predicts that the Xperia Z4 is expected to have a 5.5 inch display. Android Origin and The Fuse Joplin also had the same predictions. The Fuse Joplin also said that it may also have an improved resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. A QHD display is also being eyed in the new device.

Better audio quality = Changes in Design

The Fuse Joplin is pretty optimistic that the Sony Xperia Z4 will also have better design. It said that there may be changes in the phone's entire appearance as it has been said that the phone's audio quality may be improved.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 810

When it comes to its hardware and internal properties, the Xperia Z4 will most likely have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810, an octa-core processor with a clock chipset of 2.8GHz. If upgraded, the device will be "more powerful" than any of its predecessors which had quad core processors.

4GB RAM and 32GB internal storage

All the three sources have reported that the device will have a 4GB RAM. This is a huge upgrade from the 3GB that the Xperia Z2 has. The new Xperia Z4 is also expected to get a 32GB internal storage, an upgrade from the 16GB which were in the earlier Xperia phones.

Android 5.0 Lollipop

While there have been no confirmation from Sony, rumors said that the Sony Xperia Z4 will also likely get the newest Android 5.0 Lollipop update. It might also come with a Bluetooth 4.1 and Category 6 LTE.

Better Camera

Here are some bonus! Android Origin said that the Xperia Z4 will have the same resolution of IMX220 20.7MP sensor but it will be enhanced with curved Exmor RS CMOS sensor. Sony's Z-series phones are known for their 20.7MP cameras.
