"Ouija" may have won people over, but in the horror movies scheme, "The Conjuring 2: The Enfield Poltergeist" is set to be released sometime soon to bring more thrills and screams on the big screen.

Hallels reported that "The Conjuring," released last year, had a successful run, making over $318 million worldwide despite its $20 million budget. The vast success was then followed up with a spin-off movie, "Annabelle" which also became a hit.

James Wan, who directed "The Conjuring," has decided to return to direct the sequel, which excited many fans of the budding franchise. Unfortunately, what came with this development is a delay in the release. According to Cinema Blend, Warner Bros and New Line Cinema are pushing the film to a later release date, sometime in 2016.

Ecumenical News reported that the delay was caused by legal issues that Tony DeRosa-Grund of the Evergreen Media Group has raised, claiming that Warner Bros. "acted in bad faith" and refused to disclose the profit shares to Evergreen.

A previous report from Screenrant also noted that Evergreen has claimed the rights for adaptation of Warren's movie and television adaptations, with Grund as the producer, but these cases were not made into effect. This caused a cycle of allegations that are yet to find resolution.

However, the sure news is that besides Wan's return, Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson are also expected to reprise their roles in the sequel, and production will start as early as next summer.

The plot of the second film may have similarities than that of the first, but no news are available as of late. However, according to Hallels, the sequel to Wan's horror is set in the 1970s, with the story revolving around two possessed sisters. Whether or not Annabelle will add more fright is still yet to be seen.

Can Wan make another epic of "The Conjuring 2"? What do you think of the horror film becoming a franchise with yet another terrifying story in its belt?
