Lea Michele proves she's got her acting chops down with her guest starring role in the seventh season of "Sons of Anarchy." Even her co-stars and the show's producers are raving over take on Gertie!
"In episode three, Lea portrays Gertie, a truck-stop diner waitress who Gemma (Katey Sagal) leans on during a not-so-pleasant time. The two share a cigarette together, and actually bond over their similarities," Hollywood Life said.
The site also said that by taking on the role, the "Glee" star has traded in her mic for a cigarette.
Kim Coates, who plays Tig on SOA, admitted that the thespian did "an amazing job" on the show and that she's "a flat out star."
"She has a completely different part than Rachel, everything Rachel is, this women isn't," said Paris Barclay, the show's executive producer. "I mean she is a down home regular woman who is kind of grumpy and she doesn't care about her appearance. She smokes! I mean, Rachel smoking, I don't think Rachel smoking would ever happen."
E! Online seemed to agree with the raves: "Yes, OK, we kept waiting for a motorcycle-themed Broadway number, but Lea Michele was pretty excellent in her role as a waitress/mother/smoker. More roles like this, please!"
And the fans also are giving Lea's SOA turn a thumbs up.
"Even on such a badass show she's still an angel!" tweeted Ana Olivia.
"It's so weird seeing @msleamichele in Sons of Anarchy. But she's doing an awesome job though. I love her character," said Cheyenne's Twitter post.
Once again, the actress has aced yet another stint on the small screen!
Meanwhile, Entertainment Weekly speculated on who Gertie really is. "Is Gertie the younger version of Gemma? Married young when she got pregnant, loves her son more than the (ex)husband, and has highlights?" the publication asked.
Well, "Sons of Anarchy" fans, what do you think?
On a more personal note, the actress has been noted to be in a particularly cheery mood these days. Could it be boyfriend Matthew Paetz's handiwork? Lea recently posted a "shadow photo" of her beloved on Instagram, according to Us Weekly.
"In the arty snap, Michele is holding hands with her beau, and although the picture displays only the couple's shadows, it's clear from Paetz's distinctive haircut that it's his hand the Glee star is clutching onto," the entertainment news source noted.
Perhaps her smile is also fueled by her raved-about performance on SOA.
