Mariah Carey may have taken her first public dig at estranged husband Nick Cannon. No, it did not happen during an interview, in an abrupt conversation, or a divorce court.

It actually happened while Mariah was singing a song during her recent concert in Tokyo, where she intentionally changed the lyrics of Billie Holiday's "Don't Explain" song, reports TMZ.

Nick Cannon's cheating was rumored to be the cause why the couple broke up in August, after six years of marriage.

The Huffington Post notes that allegations point to Cannon cheating on Carey with now-single Amber Rose, whom Cannon signed with his management company, NCredible Entertainment. Rose has continuously denied her rumored relationship with Nick, saying theirs is only a business arrangement.

TMZ reports that during the kick-off of her "The Elusive Chanteuse" tour in Tokyo over the weekend, Mariah changed part of the lyrics of the "Don't Explain" song, singing "I know you cheated, motherf**ker" instead of the original line: "And I know you cheat, right or wrong don't matter."

Mariah's subtle shot at her former husband came in the wake of reports of her voice cracking during the same Tokyo concert. Time reported that during the concert, Carey struggled to hit the high notes that characterized the studio recording of "Vision of Love," a classic track and Mariah's debut single in 1990.

Unfortunately for Mariah, fans caught her vocal malfunction on video and posted several clips on Instagram. Social media has since been flooded with harsh criticisms on the international singing diva.

It seems obvious that Mariah was not in her usual self during the concert, with her mind wandering as she looked for the perfect opportunity to take a swipe at Cannon. Obviously, she found one with the song "Don't Explain."

Glamour was quite direct with its assessment of Carey's actions by saying, "If the adapted lyrics weren't already enough to arouse suspicion why Mariah and Nick have split, the meaning behind the song only adds to speculation."

According to Billie Holiday's autobiography titled "Lady Sings the Blues," the singer wrote the emotional song after her husband Jimmy Monroe came home one night with lipstick marks on his collar, cites Glamour.

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon were married in 2008 and were blessed with now three-year-old twins Monroe and Moroccan.

Carey is 12 years older than the 33-year-old Nick.

E! News has reported that an insider has revealed that Carey's decision to split from Cannon is final. "She has made up her mind. She is definitely divorcing him," the insider was quoted as saying.
