Last month, it was announced that the "Power Rangers" reboot will be released on July 22, 2016. Recently, it was revealed that the Green Ranger will be making a cameo in the upcoming film - news that should excite fans.

Jason David Frank, who played Tommy "The Green/White Ranger" Oliver on TV series, "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers," said that he has been speaking with the makers of the movie and that he may be appearing in the film.

"I probably will be involved. They talked to me about it. I don't know how much I am involved, but for sure cameos at least in the reboot movie," he told CINEMABLEND.

"Frank also made reference to a Green Ranger series he was developing, but that was steamrolled by the reboot movie. According to him, sidelining that project was an effort to save his appearance for the new movie," MTV noted.

The actor and MMA fighter led the 1995 cast of "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Movie" and has also appeared in some episodes of the TV series, including "Power Rangers Turbo," "Power Rangers Wild Force," and "Power Rangers DinoThunder." Frank had also played Red and Black rangers, according to The Wrap. Talk about being versatile and hardworking!

Currently, he's involved in "My Morphin Life," a reality series that ran one season on YouTube. Season 2 will later be shown on CONTV.

Back in July, it was reported that those behind the reboot have enlisted the services of "X-Men: First Class" writers Zack Stentz and Ashley Miller, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

And although it was first announced that Roberto Orci will be producing "Power Rangers," it appears that is not the case fairly recently. Orci had bowed out of the project "because of his directing commitments on Star Trek 3," Metro said.

Despite this, the "Power Rangers" movie will push through with its 2016 release date.

"The new film, produced by Lionsgate and Haim Saban, will reportedly see the Rangers as a group of high school kids with super powers, who must master their abilities in order to save the world," the publication noted, adding, "Original Star Trek actor George Takei - who played Lieutenant Sulu in the Star Trek TV series - said he was keen to make an appearance in the third film."
