As Derek "The Captain" Jeter caps off his amazing professional baseball career, Jordan Brand honors him via a commemorative pair of sneakers.

A future MLB Hall of Famer and currently one of Jordan Brand's biggest endorsers, Jeter has established himself as a legendary shortstop and champion of the New York Yankees in the past two decades. He played only with the Yankees throughout his career and has garnered several achievements and World Series titles along the way. As a gesture of respect to the shortstop, Jordan Brand will release the Air Jordan 1 Retro "Jeter" on September 20.

The shoes will be available at around 8 a.m. EDT or 5 a.m. PDT and retail at $140. According to Bleacher Report, the special pair will be part of the Derek Jeter Collection, which will also feature the Derek Jeter Flight Flex Trainer. The shoes are part of the "#RE2PECT" campaign, which was previously launched by Jordan Brand to honor Jeter in his retirement year.

In a report by Sneaker News, the Air Jordan Retro 1 "Jeter" was inspired by the traditional uniform of the New York Yankees, featuring the Midnight Navy and Sail tones.

Fans can check out the following design/features as stated by the site:

1) It has a white outsole and midsole with the visible white stitching on the midsole.

2) The outsole follows the same pattern as other Air Jordan 1 Retro models.

3) The entire upper is almost completely made of Midnight Navy leather except for the white pinstripe pattern at the collar and heel cup.

4) The large swoosh on the side is also white.

5) The waxed laces and tongue are Midnight Navy.

6) The Air Jordan logo appears in gold at the outer side of the shoe collar.

7) The tongue features Jeter's golden logo in front and a Midnight Blue tab at the back with the word "RE2PECT" in gold.

8) A golden Jumpman logo appears in the middle of the heel cup too. The insoles also feature a unique blue and gold pattern featuring the slogan "RE2PECT".

The Air Jordan 1 Retro 1 "Jeter" will be sold separately from the Derek Jeter Flight Flex Trainer, which retails at $120. Potential buyers can order the two pairs from the Derek Jeter Collection on Nike.com, Footlocker.com and Eastbay.com. Selected Nike boutiques and sneaker shops will also have the pairs available such as Finish Line and Foot Locker.
