File this under the "odd" category, folks.

A woman, who is a diehard fan of Robert Pattinson's Edward Cullen character in the "Twilight" movies, went ahead and married a cardboard cutout of the actor in character. According to MTV News, 25-year-old native, Lauren Adkins, went ahead and married Pattinson's six-foot life-size cutout on a dare that she eventually took seriously.

You can check out her new life as "Mrs. Cullen" on Instagram here.

Adkins purchased her standee boyfriend at a record shop for $20. Her obsession with Edward had her doting on him, taking him to many outings. When a friend suggested that she got married with Edward, Adkins did not hesitate and actually planned a ceremony. Adkins had 50 guests at her wedding, who saw her in her white dress at Viva Las Vegas Wedding Chapel on the Vegas strip for her ceremony, and partied with champagne and a five-tier cake at the reception. Adkins blew $3,200 for the occasion.

In an interview with the Mirror UK, she explained about her decision to get hitched, "We got hitched in Las Vegas last year and I'm sure we're happier than most newlyweds. People might think I'm crazy but my flat-pack R-Patz is the closest I'll get to the real thing and he's the one for me. For as long as I can remember I've been obsessed with romantic fairytale endings. When I was a child, I watched the Disney versions of Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs and Cinderella until the tapes wore out."

Adkins, who looks like a blonde bombshell in her dreamy wedding gown with wide transparent straps and 50s hair and makeup on her wedding day, said that she was disappointed with how romance in the movies did not exactly pan out in real life. When she "met" Edward in the first "Twilight" book, she was hooked immediately.

"It was different from any love story I'd seen before - after all, the leading character was as likely to suck your blood as open the door for you. I was obsessed. Leading man Edward was quiet and mysterious, yet superhuman and invincible. And so sexy. I tore through the books and I queued outside the cinema when the film was released, desperate for my first glimpse of Edward. And when Robert Pattinson appeared on screen at midnight, he was perfect. I knew that very minute I wanted to marry him," she added.

There is no word yet on whether the news about Adkins' marriage has reached Pattinson's camp. On the other hand, Pattinson has long moved on from his "Twilight" persona. The Guardian said that the actor is next seen in "Maps to the Stars." The film garnered critical acclaim following its premiere in Cannes, with Peter Bradshaw describing the satire film as "gripping and exquisitely horrible movie".
