Floyd Mayweather put an end to rumors that a super-fight between him and Filipino Manny Pacquiao is brewing.

In a report by SB Nation, Mayweather shared that he plans to hang up his gloves after September 2015 when his contract with Showtime expires. He is set to face Marcos Maidana for their rematch on September 13, 2014, and after that, he will only have two fights left on his deal. His contract with Showtime comprises six fights in all, valued at $200 million. The fifth fight is expected to be in May 2015 while the final fight will be in September, after which he intends to stop fighting and focus on promoting through his company, Mayweather Promotions.

According to ESPN.com, Mayweather said, "I only got two more fights left (after Saturday) and after the next two fights I just want to build the Mayweather Promotions brand. My next fight is in May and my last fight is in September, so a year from now will be my last fight." He added, "I'll still work with my stable of fighters, still build the Mayweather Promotions brand. We have young fighters that we work with."

Late in August 2014, Bob Arum of Top Rank Promotions stated that their camp has been negotiating with Showtime to create a mega-fight between Mayweather and Pacquiao, allegedly with a purse worth almost $300 million. Although there were previous issues between the two boxers' networks, Showtime and HBO, Arum said that a deal might iron out if the offer is right and a bout could happen in 2015.

Mayweather, however, refuted that their camps are settling the terms of a possible fight. He said in a report by Bad Left Hook, "Not true. I can't say what the future holds, but Arum and Pacquiao is trying to sell tickets for the (fight with the) guy named (Chris) Algieri. Trying to sell tickets for that fight. I don't know where they fighting, I don't know anything about what Top Rank is doing."

He added, "As of right now, my focus is on Maidana. I can't focus on the other two fights after that. I have to focus on Maidana. After that we can't say who's the next two are going to be but I'm pretty sure the next two will be exciting fights."

Boxing fans are still hoping that the Mayweather and Pacquiao camps will come to an agreement and finally bring them the fight they have been asking for in a long time, albeit five years late at least.
