The San Francisco 49ers won over the Dallas Cowboys on September 7 at the AT&T Stadium in Dallas.

The game concluded with a final score of 28-17. With Tony Romo showing some rustiness in their opening game, 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick had less trouble throwing a couple of touchdown passes to Vernon Davis.

Coming into the game, the Cowboys were still apprehensive about Romo's condition since he just got off a back operation. San Francisco, on the contrary, was lacking key players in their defensive roster due to suspensions and injuries.

In a report by 49ers.com, the team immediately led the game 7-0 in less than a minute after it commenced. Chris Culliver took advantage of a fumble by Demarco Murray to score the defensive touchdown. The last time the 49ers managed a defensive touchdown was in 1968. On the opening drive, Kaepernick finished three passes for 73 yards. He successfully made a touchdown pass for 29 yards to Vernon Davis, increasing the lead to 14-3 in the first quarter. Eric Reid intercepted Tony Romo to cause a takeaway. The next play had Kaepernick throwing a fourth straight pass to Davis for another touchdown. The first quarter ended with the 49ers leading 21-3.

The Cowboys suffered much from turnovers and their poor defense added to the injury, causing the 49ers to rally to 28-3 in the second quarter. Even with several injured players in their defensive line, the 49ers were great on defense.

Tramaine Brock suffered a toe injury while Chris Culliver had a concussion. Their replacements, Perrish Cox and Dontae Johnson, however, made up for their absence efficiently. Romo threw deep to Bryant but Perrish intercepted. Brock returned late into the game. Jimmie Ward, however, looked like he was dizzy leaving the game. Only Cox and Johnson were the healthy cornerbacks for the rest of the game. The 49ers will have to stay healthy to prepare for their next game against the Chicago Bears.

Romo finished the game with a late touchdown and threw for 281 yards. He said, "I felt comfortable. Just couple poor decisions that I made tonight."

According to Ninersnation.com, Frank Gore surpassed 10,000 career rushing yards during the third quarter. Carlos Hyde also garnered 50 yards on seven carries. After the game, Davis had a total of 53 career receiving touchdowns. It is the most receiving touchdowns in the league since 2009.
