Belarusian Victoria Azarenka and American Serena Williams will battle it out Saturday evening during Day 13 of the U.S. Open. The women's singles final match will follow the men's singles semifinals matches being played at Arthur Ashe Stadium Saturday afternoon.

On Friday, No. 1-seeded Azarenka defeated No.3-seeded Maria Sharapova in three sets 3-6, 6-2 and 6-4. Russian Sharapova worked Azarenka for two hours and 42 minutes in scorching heat before being defeated, Bleacher Report said.

No. 4-seeded Williams and No. 10-seeded Sara Errani followed in the second semifinal match on Friday, which saw a quick victory from Williams. The match between Williams and Italian Errani lasted two sets 6-1 and 6-2 and ended in just over an hour. According to Bleacher Report, Errani told reporters, "She's not unbeatable. No one is unbeatable. Anyone can lose. But if she plays well, she's the best in the world."

Williams and Azarenka will duke it out for the Grand Slam title on Saturday night at Arthur Ashe Stadium. Williams, who is a favorite to win the title, would be the first woman to win the Wimbledon and U.S. Open championships in the same year since 2002 if she manages to win, Bleacher Report said. The American claimed that accomplishment last in 2002.

The men's matches, which were originally scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, will have Czech Tomas Berdych play against Scotsman Andy Murray and Spaniard David Ferrer play against Serbian Novak Djokovic for a chance to reach the finals match.

Both matches, which will be played at Arthur Ashe Stadium, were postponed due to inclement weather in the Flushing Meadows, N.Y. area. The winners from each semifinals men's match will advance to the finals match scheduled for Sunday.
