"MGS" Fans have got to beone of the luckiest ever. IGN Asia uncovers a 22-minute trailer of "Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain"! With this lengthy appetizer set in 1080p/60 fps, get ready to witness jam-packed action as characters get into more "open-world exploration" without much constraints. Watch carefully, as this would give you an idea about how the game's multiplayer component works. Jumpstart!

Uproxx provides an overview on the trailer, "The first 16-minutes or so is footage from the single-player game that we've seen before...but if you skip to the 16:55 mark you can check out the never seen before multiplayer action. Basically the multiplayer stuff is a form of tower defense where you can trick out your base or, alternatively, try to infiltrate other players' bases". Wow, we can see how infiltration is going to work from here.

The synopsis begins with Big Boss falling into a coma after the Ground Zeroes events and Militaires Sans Frontières' (MSF) destruction. He awakens after nine long years, and eventually forms the Diamond Dogs. This is a new mercenary group. Disguised as "Venom Snake", Big Boss ventures into Afghanistan during the Soviet War, with the mission of hunting down those who were responsible for the doom of MSF. While doing so, he meets Ocelot, his former rival, as well as a unit of warriors without past, present, and future. Initially driven to seek revenge along with Kazuhira Kaz, Venom Snake discovers a scheme of the Cipher organization that aims to produce a weapon which has the ability to beat even the Metal Gear. Now Venom Snake quickly resorts to bringing an end to the threat he has uncovered.

IGN Asia gives us a brief table of events as depicted in the trailer, and we give you some of the most important highlights: At the first minute, Big Boss struggles to take a cantine from Ocelot; 4:00 explores a gorgeous open world; at 4:15 the iDroid device lets Big Boss set markers and take whatever route he wants; at 5:45 the new Fulton Delivery System lets you set a marker on almost anything and claim it yours; at 6:30 Boss is in desperate need of new recruits and uses the Fulton to send a goat to MotherBase; at 13:25, the fresh and mobile traversal lends itself well to fast-paced infiltration; at 17:50 gun cameras and other weapons can be installed in your customized base to prevent others from getting in or out; at 19:20 Big Boss is looting soldiers, weapons, and supplies from another player's base; at 20:22 Fulton is shown as a means of traversal; at 21:40 UAVs detect intruders in your MotherBase; and lastly, at 22:10, other player busts the Big Boss, hinting on PvP multiplayer modes to come.
