We never forget a classic especially when it is sci-fi. Returning to TV on August 23rd is the 12th Time Lord, "Doctor Who" (played by Peter Capaldi), in a nerve-wrecking premiere that is "Deep Breath". Directed by Ben Wheatley and written by Steven Moffat, the pilot episode stars Capaldi and partner Jenna Coleman (who plays Clara Oswald). The excitement builds up from the 2013 Christmas special "The Time Of The Doctor" and an appearance in "The Day Of The Doctor", Doctor Who in his newest, first full episode is only a few moments away. And we bet die-hard "Doctor Who" fans are already at the edge of their seats.

For those who do not know, "Doctor Who" is a British science-fiction program produced by BBC. It tells the story of the humanoid alien Doctor Who, a Time Lord. That being said, concentration is set on the adventures of time travel and the foes he encounter. Through his spaceship called Tardis, Doctor Who is able to explore the universe against time with convenience. The spaceship's design draws inspiration from historical British accounts at par with the timing of its first release in 1963.

Now do not be confused as there really are many Doctor Who's. This is a cyclic mechanism of the character that depicts his transition into new life -- a naturally-occurring process. It involves regeneration, with the recent character of the Doctor taking on a new body and personality. This happens after sustaining an injury which is deemed fatal. The Doctor is currently portrayed by Peter Capaldi, who took on the role after Matt Smith's final appearance in the 2013 Christmas special, "The Time of the Doctor".

Consisting of twelve episodes, "Doctor Who" Series 8 is set to begin with an international simulcast and cinema screenings. BBC One notes the full episode running for a duration of one hour and sixteen minutes. "Doctor Who's" time warp sets its starting point in Victorian London. There he "finds a dinosaur rampant in the Thames and a spate of deadly spontaneous combustions". The dinosaur creating havoc, by the way, is a tyrannosaurus, and the teaser shares a glimpse of Doctor Who, Clara, Vastra, Tardis, and more. The reports also teases on the identity of the new doctor and whether his friendship with Clara lingers, while they journey on the heart of an alien conspiracy.

Viewers in Australia can enjoy "Doctor Who" Series 8 on ABC 1, while viewers in the U.S. and the UK can watch the show on BBC America and BBC One, according to International Business Times AU
