Is Taylor Swift releasing a new album really soon? Recently, Buzzfeed noted that the multi-Grammy awardee singer has shared an Instagram video of her repeatedly pressing the button for floor 18 on an elevator. The video came in with a caption that read, "So, here's your first clue..."

MTV decided to investigate on what the video means, and considering that the number 18 is clearly significant to her new album, the music news site said that Swift might be following Adele's lead in naming her albums. Adele, who has since released two studio albums, is noted to name her records after her age. Although Swift is 24 years old now, it is most likely that the singer will be singing songs on her experiences when she was 18, MTV postulated.

On the other hand, "18" might also be a follow-up to Swift's catchy single aptly titled "22." The song, which was included in her fourth studio album "Red", describes how T. Swift enjoys being 22 years old. Peaking at number 20 on the Billboard Hot 100, the single became a favorite with critics because of the new pop sound that came with the single.

The number 18 could also very well be the number of songs Swift will have  on her new album. Should that be the case, MTV believes this is a lot for an album.

But what is plausible is that the number "18" could be the date when Swift would be releasing her album. Billboard said that based on Swift's history in releasing her records, the pop star has been known to release her albums near the end of October. Her first self-titled album was dropped October 24, 2006, followed by "Fearless" on November 11, 2008. Her "Speak Now" album debuted on October 25, 2010, and "Red" premiered on October 22, two years ago.

Following Swift's lead, could it be possible that the singer and occasional actress would be releasing her album on October 18?

In an earlier interview during her "Red" tour in Shanghai, the singer shared a video of her talking about her album. In the video, Swift said about her highly-anticipated fifth album, "We are not going to announce some other leg of the tour, but what that does mean is that I can throw myself into the next project. I've already been working very hard on it and it's already my favorite thing that I've ever created. So the idea that after Asia, I get to go back and finish everything and get everything completely done and completely wrapped up for a new project, it's very exciting."

She continued, "As I've grown up, the things I've written about have completely evolved with how I was growing. I was writing songs about what it was like to be 18, what it was like to be 20, what it's like to be 22 and now I'm 24 and I'm still writing songs about my life. I think I really just love the unity it brings me and the audience because chances are they've felt the exact same way I felt when I wrote the song and I think it kind of reminds them - and it reminds me - that the human experience isn't so lonely."
