Actress Kristen Stewart made her first public appearance at the Toronto International Film Festival on Thursday since admitting to cheating on "Twilight" costar Robert Pattinson this summer. The actor also made a public appearance that night, but at the MTV Video Music Awards in Los Angeles, Calif. to promote the last installment of the "Twilight" saga.

Stewart braved the red carpet in Toronto to promote her latest film, "On the Road." The film is based on the Jack Kerouac novel by the same name. According to CBS News, Stewart told reporters that the novel was one of her favorite books. "I'm somebody that has loved the book their whole life," the actress told CBS, adding that she first read it when she was 14.

Dressed in a floral Zuhair Murad dress, Stewart was happy to get the support from fans. The actress told MTV News, "Dude, I'm really happy that they're here for 'On the Road.' I think most of them were fans before I had anything to do with it, which is why they're here anyways, so its awesome."

The 22-year-old actress went into hiding after publicly admitting and apologizing for an affair with her 41-year-old "Snow White and the Huntsman" director Rupert Sanders. Stewart and Sanders, a married father of two, were photographed in a compromising position in July.

Shortly afterwards, Pattinson moved out of the couple's Los Angeles home. The now split couple has not been seen together since the affair became public.

Pattinson appeared with fellow "Twilight" costars at the MTV VMA for the release of the final trailer for the "Breaking Dawn- Part 2" film. According to PEOPLE Magazine, the British actor thanked fans for their continued support before introducing the trailer.

"It's been an amazing journey and we'd like to thank all the fans of the series for your incredible enthusiasm from the beginning until now," Pattinson said.

Back in Toronto, Stewart told reporters she was "doing fine" since the scandal.

The final installment of the "Twilight" series, "Breaking Dawn- Part 2," will premiere November 16. Stewart's "On the Road" will premiere in limited numbers on December 21, MTV News reported.
