Citing a new report by American journalist and blogger Nikki Finke, Batman-News.com said Warner Bros is planning to release a "Justice League" movie just a year after "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" debuts in theaters in May 2017.

Finke also claims to have inside information about the cause of delay of the highly-anticipated "Batman vs Superman" mashup film.

She wrote, "Like Marvel's The Avengers, there will be cameos of superheroes for future installments. The cameos will include the already known Cyborg and Flash. Green Lantern [not played by Ryan Reynolds, thank god] may be introduced. And Aquaman will be seen in the Justice League movie. Problem is, Warner Bros Pictures was still negotiating with the actors for those cameos and future roles, meaning major contracts for multiple JL/character films to follow. The studio didn't want to move forward until they had more of this secure so they held off starting production for a few months. Seemingly simple reason, but the implications are pretty darn huge."

Finke is considered to be one of Hollywood's most reliable sources for news in the film industry, so her report should not be taken with a grain of salt, Batman-News.com implies. After founding Deadline, Finke left the company and is now working on her own, and debuted this piece of good news, albeit to fans of the DC Comics universe itching to see a franchise played out in theaters just like what Marvel Studios has done. On the other hand, Latino Review scooper El Mayimbe said that Finke's might be the Superhero Hype forums, and cautions readers to reconsider her news.

Apart from revelations that Green Lantern and Aquaman will be appearing in the "Justice League" movie, Finke also revealed several planned film releases of other DC Comics characters. Check out the roadmap allegedly by Warner:

  • May 2016 - Batman v Superman
  • July 2016 - Shazam
  • Xmas 2016 - Sandman
  • May 2017 - Justice League
  • July 2017 - Wonder Woman
  • Xmas 2017 - Flash and Green Lantern team-up
  • May 2018 - Man Of Steel 2

/Film doubts that the timeline would be feasible, as there are a couple of supposed film releases that remained dubious. For one, "Shazam" is reportedly in development hell for almost a decade. Moreover, the Flash and Green Lantern mashup film might not be happening even though both are very well-loved and known characters individually, but not good as a duo if to be based on comics history.
