It was a huge game for the Chicago Blackhawks and the Los Angeles Kings. After overtime, the Kings beat the Balckhawks 5-4 and finished the series 4-3 to face the chiav in the Stanley Cup Finals.

The Western Conference finals ended with Alec Martinez, defenseman of the Kings, shooting the final goal from a pass by Justin Williams at 5:47 in overtime. Williams has a 7-0 record when playing in Game 7. The Blackhawks was leading throughout the game and only lost their chance in the end. Chicago scored the initial two goals. After the first period, the score was 3-2.

Brandon Saad of the Blackhawks scored first in the first period, which was his fourth in the series. He shot with very little angle available but kept it fast and high. Jonathan Toews scored the second goal from a power play. Jeff Carter helped cut the two-point lead down to one by getting the rebound after Dustin Brown's shot then putting the puck back in.

During the third period, Marian Gaborik, left wing of the Kings tied the score 3-3 at 12:43. Tyler Toffoli also scored for the Kings during the second period. Patrick Sharp scored for the Blackhawks to provide the lead again. Jonathan Quick, goalie of the Kings, had 37 saves. He also stopped a shot by Andrew Shaw with only 5.3 seconds left on the clock. Crawford, goalie of the Hawks, stopped 27 out of 32 shots throughout the game.

The game went into overtime with the scores tied 4-4. According to The Guardian, the final shot by Martinez was made after a deflection. Chicago celebrates and the crowd went wild at the United Center.

The Kings are now the first team in NHL history to win in Game 7 three times while away from home during the playoffs. They are currently 7-0 in elimination games during the 2014 postseason. The Kings will face the Rangers at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on June 4, 2014, writes Bleacher Report
