Daredevil has a face, and it's the face of Charlie Cox.

Best known for his work on HBO's "Boardwalk Empire" and Neil Gaiman's "Stardust", Cox will play the lead of the new Netflix series as the blind attorney/ masked vigilante Matt Murdock, a role previously held by Ben Affleck in a 2003 film.

"Daredevil" is the newest of Marvel's characters heading for the small screen. According to the Los Angeles Times, the powerhouse will also feature live-action series for Netflix, centering on Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage.

Each of these series are said to have a minimum of 13 episodes that will culminate into a special "The Defenders" miniseries.

The story of Daredevil centers around Matt Murdock, who, as a youngster, was blinded in an accident involving a radioactive substance which helped heighten his other senses to superhuman levels. His father, Jack Murdock, was a boxer, killed for refusing to throw a fight, leaving his son to take justice into his own hands: first as an attorney, and as a streets as a masked vigilante.

Marvel announced on Saturday that the showrunner for the new series will be Steven S. DeKnight, who also helmed "Spartacus," "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," and "Angel."

Drew Goddard will serve as executive producer as well as the writer for the first two episodes. Other than these, Goddard will also work simultaneously with Sony on their upcoming Spider-Man spinoff, titled "The Sinister Six."

Marvel has dominated the box office in recent years, and according to Variety, the powerhouse name has started investing on the small screen with the renewal of "Marvel's Agents of SHIELD" and the ABC order of "Agent Carter" midseason.

MTV  reports that Daredevil, produced by Marvel Television and ABC Studios, will start shooting in New York City this summer, and making it to the small screen sometime in 2015.
