Alas, like anything in life, all good things must come to an end. It was exactly 10 years ago when the world all shared the same bittersweet feeling of seeing "Friends" end with its 10th season in 2004, will the 10th season also be the last for "The Big Bang Theory?"
It was only last month when CBS announced that the "The Big Bang Theory" would be picked up for three more years, all the way through the 2016-2017 season.
"Comedy is a big part of our schedule, and 'The Big Bang Theory' is the biggest comedy force on television," recalls CNN of Nina Tassler, Chairman of CBS Entertainment saying in a statement.
While the extension elated fans of the immensely popular hit-series, The Hollywood Reporter, during an interview with Steve Molaro, found out a bit more about the longevity of the show.
"There's no official ending. We all have thoughts and talk about little things here and there but we can't even think four episodes ahead on this show, so to think 72 ahead is kind of crazy (laughs)," says Molaro when asked about when the show might end."
With the alleged final 10th season, The Hollywood Reporter asked if that's something he [Molaro] would be comfortable with; to be at at par with epic sitcom such as "Friends." Molaro simply responds he would be as long as its done right.
"My concern is that we do it right and we end this show in a way that is as befitting of these characters that we respect and love. As long as we can have the opportunity to end it in a way that serves them all properly, that's my concern -- more than the number of seasons."
Molaro drops hints at major changes in the final few episodes including a possible proposal and Howard and Bernadette caring for an ailing Mrs. Wolowitz.
