There is much speculation on how King Joffrey Baratheon, played by the wonderful Jack Gleeson, died in his own wedding on the Sunday night shocker of HBO's "Game of Thrones." Although cameras have pointed to his uncle Tyrion Lannister, who had been his nephew's wine cup bearer seconds before the young tyrant king died, several quick-thinking Reddit users, as pointed out by Buzzfeed noted, that it might have been a conspiracy carried out by at least two people, and one of them might not have been Sansa Stark.

As it has been known to "Game of Thrones" fans, Sansa has lost much of her family when they were massacred in a conspiracy orchestrated by Tywin Lannister, the grandfather of King Joffrey.

Reddit users said that Ser Dontos Hollard and Lady Olenn Redwyne had played a hand in King Joffrey's death. Ser Dontos, who had been wronged by King Joffrey after showing drunk at a tourney, presented Sansa with a necklace with seven blue crystals prior to King Joffrey's wedding. The day of the wedding, Lady Olenna came over Sansa's seat during King Joffrey's wedding to offer a few words.

Unknown to Sansa, Reddit users said that Lady Olenna stripped off one of the seven crystals on her necklace, which was evident if one looks closely. When King Joffrey gets drunk at his own wedding, and proceeds to humiliate his uncle and Sansa's husband, Tyrion later on goes to get his nephew's wine. A quick pan of the camera shows Lady Olenna watching the wine very closely, as if she was anticipating something.

Buzzfeed said that in the George RR Martin's universe, there is a poison called "The Strangler" that is made from purple crystallized plants. The Reddit users goes short on explaining how Lady Olenna managed to pass the missing crystal into the wine that King Joffrey drank to his death.

Martin somewhat confirmed the suspicions in a separate interview by Rolling Stone. He said, "In the books - and I make no promises, because I have two more books to write, and I may have more surprises to reveal - the conclusion that the careful reader draws is that Joffrey was killed by the Queen of Thorns, using poison from Sansa's hair net, so that if anyone actually did think it was poison, then Sansa would be blamed for it. Sansa had certainly good reason for it."

Although there was a slight variation to the jewelry used to ferry the poison to the wedding, Reddit users were right. Lady Olenn is described as a cunning old woman with a sharp tongue and a wicked wit, hence earning the monicker "Queen of Thorns."
