Ana Trujillo, the Latina who murdered her partner by stabbing him with her stilettos 25 times, tries to convince a Houston jury that she was abused by men repeatedly in an attempt to avoid being sentenced to life in prison.

According to information published by the Miami Herald, last Tuesday, April 8, a jury found Trujillo guilty of murdering Andersson, and might face life in prison.

Facing this possibility, Trujillo, a 43-year-old Mexican woman requested to testify during the trial, hoping that her sentence will be reduced, an unlikely scenario, since prosecutors called over 19 witnesses that support the fact that Trujillo is a violent and volatile woman.

According to The Houston Chronicle, Trujillo went on the stand this Thursday, March 10 during the trial for the murder of Alf Stefan Andersson, a 59-year-old university professor who was murdered by Trujillo in June of last year, and assured that she has been the victim of abuses from men throughout her life.

According to CNN, the defense argued that prosecutors had not shown a motive and that Trujillo was the victim of domestic violence and simply reacted in self-defense with her stilettos, during a fight in June, 2013.

But besides this, Ana Trujillo went on the witness stand and told the jury that throughout her life she had suffered abuses from men, which determined her behavior in the fight that cost Andersson his life.

Trujillo's defense tries to convince the jury that she acted impulsively and suddenly to a dangerous scenario, which might help reduce her sentence to between 2 and 20 years in prison.
