Although Katie Holmes met "How I Met Your Mother" star Jason Segel way back in 2011, it was only in the past few months that "sparks started to fly," The Daily Mail revealed.
"The former Mrs Tom Cruise has been romancing Jason Segel, who Williams dated seriously from 2012 to 2013," the British entertainment news source noted. However, the actress had denied to the publication that they were an item.
Despite the denial, an insider had reportedly said that the two are "having a great time together."
Has Jason been running his funny lines by her, then?
Further, the couple are said to be "so serious" that the actor is already thinking of relocating to New York City, where Katie is based. It appears that he can do just that, now that his hit TV series has just ended.
An insider also revealed that Jason is "eager to start a family" and that he already has "bonded" with Katie's 8-year-old daughter Suri.
"Holmes has been spending as much time as she can with the 'Knocked Up' star, and she thinks he could be The One," the publication added.
Well, Michelle Williams may have thought of him that way, too. In fact, it was speculated that the "Brokeback Mountain" star was "set to marry the funny man in 2013", as he was observed spending much time with daughter Matilda. However, they broke up not long after that.
Will Katie's rumored romance with Jason follow that same trajectory?
Almost immediately after news of the couple dating emerged, Katie's rep said that the two are not dating and that the "story is completely untrue," according to Us Weekly.
"The two have not spoken since she appeared on How I Met Your Mother," said Leslie Sloane, the actress' spokesperson.
